28th Feb--- Month Ends.. Celebs with a Pomo Ice Tea



Its 1st of March today.. So how was the last day of Feb end??

Ofcourse with a Special Ice Tea made of Pomogranate.

Ingredients Reqd:                                                                         

Pomogranate Seeds - a cup
Orange Peels - Quarter orange
Crushed Ice - 1cup
Tea Tcoction - half cup
Sugar syrup - 2 sp
Mint Leaves - 2 sp

Process:

Make the tea coction.
And in it add the pomo seeds, sliced orange and mint leaves.
Allow them to set in for 20 mins max.

                     

In a serving Juice glass, add in the crushed ice, pour the tea coction mixture,
Along with them add in the sugar syrup.

                                                        


Beautiful Ice Fruit Tea is ready to sip on.
Enjo!!!!!!!
 

French Toast


Yes, again the Breads... Numerous dishes out of them.
Here goes the French Toast

Ingredients Reqd:

Bread Slices - 4
Egg - 1
All purpose Flour - 3 sp
Milk - 1/4 cup
Sugar - 2 sp
Vanilla Essence - 1/4sp

Peanut Sweet Balls


Peanuts... What a super nut it is.
Can be eaten raw, boiled, roasted, God!!! and so many recipes can be made out of them.
Full of protein as well.

I opted for the sweet peanut balls as am inclined towards the sweet toothe :-) :-)

Ingredients Reqd:

1 cup Peanuts
Half round Jaggery
2 sp Ghee





Fried Peanut Mint Raita


Required an easy to digest ( helping to) raita as the main dish was a heavy one...
This Mint raita does goodness to help digest fast and the fried peanuts gives
nice crunchy taste for the raita

Ingredients Reqd:

Peanuts - Handful
Mint Leaves - Handful
Onion - 1
Green Chillies - 2
Thick curd - 1 cup
Salt - As reqd
Jeera Pwdr( Preferably Roasted and grinded ) - 1/4 sp






Chic Pea Rice!!!!


Unless until my dear friend Princy told me that the chicpeas add good taste mixed with rice,
i was only making gravies out of them....

When i tasted chicpea rice...Wowooowww.... Soooo nice and i missed them so long!!!!

Kaara Bhoondhi:

Ingredients Reqd:
For the Bhoondhis:
1 and half cup Gram Flour
1 cup water
1 sp red chilli powder
Salt as per requirement


Process:

Pour water into gram flour and make a batter.
Batter should be neither thick nor loose.
Take the bhoondhi ladle and pour in the batter into hot oil.
Fry for few secs and take away the fried bhoondhis into the sugar syrup.

To make the Bhoondhis more interesting, saute curry leaves and a handful of peanuts.
Add these bhoondhis and fry for 5 more mins...

Looks savvyyy......

 

Laddoos.. Hurray....


Wanted a quick try on the traditonal laddoos.. Yes cooking ofcourse.

Ingredients Reqd:
For the Bhoondhis:
1 and half cup Gram Flour
1 cup water

For the Sugar Syrup:

2cups sugar ( if you are sweet toothe else 1 and quarter/ 1 and half)
Powdered Cardamom - 1sp
Chopped almonds to garnish
Few petals of Saffron.
1 cup water

Process:
Immerse the sugar in water and allow to boil ( in sim)
Put the cardamom powder.
Keep stirring till the syrup goes thick.
1 string consistency would be enough

Meantime pour water into gram flour and make a batter.
Batter should be neither thick nor loose.
Take the bhoondhi ladle and pour in the batter into hot oil.
Fry for few secs and take away the fried bhoondhis into the sugar syrup.

When all bhoondis are done, and the sugar bhoondhi syrup goes little chill
make balls.
Place chopped almonds on the laddoos...

They are ready for the party now.

 

Bisi bisi BelaBath :-)










Hello Everyone
Want a full meal menu but not in the right mood to cook??

Then the answer is Bisibelabath, atleast according to me.

Ingredients Reqd:

Small onions - Handful
Vegetables - cut as little big ones ( brinjal, carrot, beans)
Rice - 1 cup
Toor Dal - 3/4th cup

Cook all the above ingredients together adding salt and turmeric powder.
Approx, say, 4 and half cups water will be reqd.

To Dry Roast:

Urad dal - 1 sp
Bengal Dal - 1sp
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 sp
Red chillies- 6, 7 nos
Coreander seeds - 2 sp
Grated coconut - 3 sp

Dry roast all the above ingredients.
And grind them to a coarse powder.( no water should be added while grinding)
Need them as fine powder.

Soak a big lime size tamarind in warm water and take its extract.

Now coming to the complete portion:

Along with the cooked rice and vegs, add the grinded powder and tamarind extract.
Allow to cook for some 15more mins.

Saute mustard, curry leaves and season on the dish.
As well add the chopped coreander leaves.

A full course Bisibelabath is ready. Eat with pappads..
 

Baby Aloos!!!!


Ah yes.. Aloos are all time favs for tummy as well hands.. to eat as well to cook i mean...
So wats in here???

Baby Aloo Fry
Ingredients Reqd:

Boiled baby aloos- 1 cup
Mustard Seeds - 1/4 sp
Urad seeds - 1/4 sp
Fenugreek powder - 1/4 sp
Red chilli powder - 1sp
Jeera powder - 1/2 sp
Curry leaves- few chopped

Method

Saute all the above mentioned seeds.
Add boiled baby aloos (hope the salt added while boiling)
Add the powders and keep frying
Add the curry leaves..
Wow.. a quick n yummy fy ready for your lunch.

Easy Side Dish For Variety Rice

Ingredients Required:
Eggs - 2
Curry Leaves - Handful
Garlic - 2 Nos
Green Chilli - 1
Pepper - 1sp
Salt - As reqd
Turmeric - 1/4sp

Process:

Boil the eggs. Make slight slits on the boiled eggs.
Saute finely chopped curry leaves, garlic and green chilli.
Add in the eggs, pepper, salt, turmeric.
Dry roast them till the eggs go brownish...

Snack ready to side dish with your variety rice.....

Go Green Dinner...!!!


Go Green... Hahaha.. thought of some different dough from the plain ones..
Yet dint have any ingredients ready to mix in...
Hence decided with adding Curry leaves, Mint leaves n Coreander leaves in dough..
And the side goes with our Peas which has Green in name n colour...

Ingredients Reqd:

1 and Half cup Wheat Flour
Reqd water to make the dough
Finely chopped Curry leaves, Mint leaves n coreander leaves
Salt as reqd.
The above ingredients are for the dough.


Make the dough out of these n soread thin and toast on tawa...

Now for the Partner--- I mean the Gravy...

Boiled Peas ( along with salt n turmeric)..
Chopped tomatoes ( 1 big tomato)
Chopped Onion ( again 1No)
slit green chilli..
Red chillies ( 3 - 4 Nos)
Sugar ( 1/2 to 1 sp) or Few cashew nuts..
Ginger a small portion and 2, 3 garlic.
Vinegar ( a spoon) or half a lime or quarter cup butter milk..( anything is ok)

Saute tomatoes and onions ( half of tomato n half of onion), red chillies, ginger and garlic.
Again saute long slit onions and tomatoes.
After tomatoes are sauted well, add the grinded paste,
After 3 - 4 mins add half sp coreander powder, 1/4 sp turmeric powder and let it.
Once the raw smell goes add the boiled peas and let cook for 5 more mins.
Now add 1/2 sp garam masala powder and crushed Kasthuri Methi.
Allow to cook for 2 mins.
Last add sugar (cashew grinded) and squeexe in the lemon or vinegar or butter milk...

Serve Hot!!!!! Enjoyyyyyyy!!!!!

Fruit Crepe

Ingredients Reqd:

For the Crepe:

All purpose Flour/ Rice Flour : 1 cup
Egg : 1
Salt : small pinch
Sugar : 1 sp
Oil : few drops
Vanilla Essence : few drops
Milk :1/2 cup
Water : 1/2 cup

For the stuffing:

Choppedfruits : 1 bowl ( apple, banana, guava..)
Fruit Juice : 1/2 cup
Butter : 1 sp

Method:

Mix all the ingredients required for the crepe together. Will be a loose batter consistency.
Refrigirate for an hour.

Toast d chopped fruits in butter. Add the fruit juice and allow to cook till the content looks mushy.

Grease a tawa and pour 1 ladle ( big spoon) of the crepe batter n spread gently.
Turn to the other side and allow to cook.
Make as a triangle and stuff the fruit mixture.
Sprinkle desired syrup ( choc, strawberry)..

Serve in the 'kuttys' snack box..
