Dilpasand


A popular bakery snack, flavorful and as well colourful.
Apt for a morning bite or post chai evening munch.



They are quite easy to prepare.
Time Taken : 40 minutes.

To Prepare the Stuffing:


In a pan, add 2 tbsp. butter, and toss in the tuti fruit and mix well.
Add in half cup brown sugar ( or jam )
Mix well.
Add in quarter cup grated coconut.
Mix well, and after 2 minutes can switch off the stove.

To Prepare the Pastry Dough :

Take 2 cups of all purpose flour, add in a pinch salt and knead well using ice cold water into medium thick dough.
Set aside for 15 minutes.
Now take the dough and dust the kneading floor surface.
Place the dough and knead well.



With the help of rolling pin, spread the dough, grease 2 tbsp. butter onto the dough surface.
Fold them like a pocket. Keep aside for 5 minutes in fridge.
Again take the dough out, knead well, and roll into a fine circle shape.
Cut off 2 circles, 1 big and 1 small.

To Prepare the Dilpasand :

Onto the bigger circle dough place the tuti fruti mixture, and spread them.
Avoid filling on the corners.







Arranging them on the centre portion would be advisable.
Place the smaller circle dough onto the tuti fruit mixture.
Seal the top and bottom layer dough by joining the ends firmly.
Give a milk wash.







Pre heat the Oven to 200 deg C and bake for 20 - 30 minutes.
Once the dilpasand gets cooled, slice them and can serve.
