Baked Samosa

The baked samosas are also equally crispy and crunchy like the oil fried ones.

Prep Time : 30 minutes
Baking Time : 20 minutes

All that You need to prepare the Dough are :

Equal proportions of Wheat and Refined Flour. I took 1 : 1 ratio.

Some salt to taste.
Add water little by little and knead the dough little inclined towards the tough side.
Oil them slightly. Leave for 30 minutes.

You can also add some 1 tsp of Baking Soda if you want them to get puffed up while baking.

Now getting inside the details of the stuffing portion:

Some finely chopped Onions and the Aval. I took 2 onions and Quarter cup Aval.

We include the aval so that the stuffings do not get squeezed out while the samosas get baked.
As the aval is going to take away the moisture of onions.
You can as well add them as it is, or can season in a tbsp. of Oil for 2 to 3 minutes and then stuff.

Depending on your preference, feel free to add chilli powder and even some other spices if you really like that way.

Now that all is set, the next important step is to ball the dough and to spread them into squared shapes.

Roast them for a sec on both the sides on a tawa ( no oil ).

Slit them.

Apply Flour paste on the sides. ( 1 tbsp. flour mixed with 2 tbsp. water ).
This flour paste is going to react the gluing agent to seal in the stuffed portion.
Roll the strips into a conical shape, spoon in the onion stuffing.
Fold and seal them well.
Likewise prepare the rest of the stuffings.

Now pre heat the oven to 180 deg C.

Grease a microwave safe tray.
Arrange the Samosas to be baked.
Set the temp again to 180 deg C and bake them for 15 to 20 minutes flipping them on regular intervals.

My Tip : Can include veggies as well if you prefer along with the onions.
