The green moong dal is rich in its proteins.. That, are mostly recommended for the children as such.
Many varieties of this dal can be reciped, whereas, I am preferring here to present my most favorite
gravy form of this dal, which i generally eat along with rice as my lunch.
Ingredients :
Green Moong Dal - 1 cup
Small Onions - 1 cup
Red Chillies - 3
Curry Leaves - Few
Jeera Seeds - 1 tsp
Grenn Chillies - 3
Coreander Seeds - 1 tsp
Salt - as per taste
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Coconut Oil - 1 tbsp
Method :
Roast the Green Moong dal in a pan until you get the nice aroma of the dal.
Wash them thoroughly. If required, you can as well soak the dal for half hour.
Take a pressure cooker, add in the dal, salt and turmeric powder and small onions
Allow 5 whistles.
The dal should be well smashed.
Take a small pan, pour in the coconut oil.
Splutter mustard seeds, jeera seeds, coreander seeds.
Season the currly leaves, green chillies and red chillies.
Pour them on top of the well smashed dal.
They are yummy to mix along with rice and paired with oil fried pappads.
