Thaen Mittai

My childhood memories always will b joining in with this 'then' popular Thaen Mittai.
Let me describe the ingredients required and the method followed to make these yummies.

Ingredients :

Urad Dal -  1 cup
Sugar - 2 cup
Color Powder - a pinch.

Method :

Soak the urad dal for 2 hours.
Grind them finely into a thick paste.
Add in the color powder ( orange ).

Mix well. Can add a pinch of salt as well to increase the taste.
Heat up oil and dip in small balls out of the dough.
Meantime heat up the sugar in a quarter cup water until the sugar dissolves.
Directly add the fried balls into the sugar syrup.
After 2 secs take the balls out of the syrup.

The Thaen Mittai yummies are ready :-)
