Plain Rasam


Plain rasam is what I call this, as i am not adding any dal to this dish.
In a state of no mood to even keep dal in cooker :-), you can really rely on this.
No, no, this is not for lazy cooking.
By the time you start making, the awesome aroma will give you instant energy boost.
And you end up cooking, not 1.. but even more :-) :-)

Pudalanga Fries


This dish is interesting especially to side munch for the Lemon rice, Dal rice...



Bittergourd Instant Pickle


To clear away the germs in stomach, this pickle can be used.
Clears away patch skin.
Also enhances growth of eyelashes.

Requirements :

Bittergourd - 1
Lemon - 1
Salt - 1tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Green Chillies - 4


Method :

Slice the biteergourd lengthwise.
Add them into a cup of hot water and wait until they are half cooked.
Add salt, turmeric powder.













Now slit the green chillies as well and add into this mixture.
Allow to cool.
Add the juice of lemon.

Instant Bittergourd pickle is ready.

Manga Curry - Pickle

Popularly called as manga curry this is a variety of instant pickle.
With the name, at first, i thought it will be a liquid curry for rice :-)

Avial


The best partner for any dry dal rice or sambar rice and as well for the variety rices.




Collect the following vegetables:

*4 small brinjals ( chopped) * 2 med potatoes ( chopped) *50 gm french beans
(chopped) * 1 raw banana ( chopped) * 1 drumstick ( chopped ) *1tbsp oil
* 1/2 cup curd * 5-6 curry leaves *1 tsp turmeric pd *salt ( to taste)

Grind for paste:
* 1/2 coconut fresh *1tsp Cumin seeds * 4 green chillies



Method:

1. In a microwave safe bowl, add all te chopped vegetables with 2 cups water
    & microwave covered at 100 % for 10 - 12 min.







 

 
2. To this add the above mentioned paste and rest of the ingredients.
     Mix well & microwave covered at 100 % power for 5-6 min.
    Standing time of 2-3 min is given.
3. Garnish with grated coconut. Serve with hot rice.
